From Day to Night

Ever have one of those days where your schedule's too jam-packed and there's no way to get home to change for the night? The best pieces for your wardrobe are ones that can be simple in cut and color, yet versatile to change up the look from day to night just by adding few select pieces.

Pleats to Meet You

Night:

Shoes: Guess by Marciano pleated satin pumps - $30 sale

Melanie:
When I first saw this dress on F21's website, I thought it was the perfect dress that can go from casual to night in a flash. I especially love the pleats along the cap sleeves and near the hips, which created some interesting details to the dress. For day, I love to pair it with a nice scarf tied to the side and on those cold days at the office, you can even add a cardigan (not pictured). Complete the look with flats and there's your day look. For those busy days when going home to change is not an option, I'll change up the look by adding tights, a nice necklace and change flats into pumps. Add a clutch to the mix and voila, a perfect night look to start the evening.

Day:
Dress: Urban Outfitters - $15
Blazer: Theory Boyfriend blazer $135, original $350
Shoes: Stuart Weitzman
Bracelet: David Yurman
Watch: Michele

Night:
Dress: Urban Outfitters - $15
Vest: Theory Hanalee Fur Vest
Shoes: Chanel
Bracelet: David Yurman
Watch: Michele

Linda:
I was initially drawn to this dress because it was on the sale rack that had a sign that said $15! There were several different colors available but I loved this shade of blue, because I don't own many clothes in that color and thought the flirty bottom was so cute. The dress is so versatile because of its simplicity that you can easily dress it up or down. When I want to keep the outfit low key during the day, I'd add a nice blazer and a pair of nice flats to complete the look. But, for the evening adding a pair of fabulous shoes and a fur vest can add a bit of glamour to the dress. I chose not to wear any major accessories because I didn't want to distract away from the shoes and vest since they speak for themselves. So there you have it--just by adding on different pieces to one dress can take it from day to night!
